A reinforcement of why I love Zaadz...

One of the things that impresses me most about this community is how it grasps the deeper truths behind the glitz of principles like "creating your own reality" and the Law of Attraction. It's not that these popularized notions are wrong, but more that they're just a superficial glimpse of a much larger picture... and it's wonderful to be among a group of people who understands this.

I really think this paragraph is a tremendous compliment to myself and all the other Zaadzsters out there. I was thinking as I was watching "The Secret" that although there was a lot of panache in the movie, you could really reduce all that hot broth down to a few powerful principles which are indeed fundamental truths.

In the past, I've mentioned the fact that until recently I took for granted the simple power of being able to make a choice in how I handle every situation in life, and how that is such an undervalued ability that everyone has. No matter what the situation, we have the choice on how we handle ourselves and our circumstances. I now appreciate being able to do this.

Likewise, there are so many wonderful bits of knowledge out there that Zaadzsters are able to bring to light. These aren't usually revelations or new thinking paradigms, they are just simple, basic truths that no one can change. What makes Zaadz such a wonderful place to be is that you will always find a new bit of wisdom to consider, which really is something old that you forgot about, most of the time!

Being part of Zaadz has been nothing but positive for me. We are all aligned in our attitude and in our intentions to do some good. When you have that, there is nothing that can keep you from the inherent benefits that blossom from these seeds of positiveness.

Zaadz is dutch for Seed, by the way.

Dish Wisdom

Recently on our blog, I made a post about some personal struggles my family and I have been having in the last few months. While I was doing dishes, I had a small epiphany that even in our most dire personal circumstances, we still have the incredible power to choose our course of action, and to profoundly affect the end result.

In response to this post, Marianne made the astute observation that while performing mundane tasks such as washing dishes, we often are freeing up our minds to have some introspective time with ourselves.

Of course, spirituality is by and large built on the ability of humans to reflect and to make realizations which contribute to our mental, spiritual, and physical well being.

Marianne has made it clear for me that there is true wisdom waiting for us all in that next load of dishes. Let the dishwashing machine rest. Instead, wash away your stress.

Ambition + Vision + Momentum = Progress

Let's talk about what leads to progress.

Ambition

From an early age, we all find that we have ambition. Probably, our earliest ambitions involve attempting to get the basics, such as nourishment and attention. As we grow, our ambitions grow. Popularity, praise, girlfriends, boyfriends, a car, independence become our ambitions as we near adulthood. Once we've conquered these, we reach for more. The difficulty arises as our ambitions are mitigated by responsibility, bills, a 40-hour work week. Ambition is powerful but easily misdirected.

Vision

Vision comes to us in different ways. Sometimes, it is a lightning strike, it burns an image into our brains that can not be erased. Other times, it is cultivated, borne out of the desire to create. Vision is a roadmap, but without the vehicle that is ambition, the road will never be travelled.

Momentum

Momentum is a more elusive creature. Its ethereal, nebulous, and never directly observed. Despite this, you can harness it. You possess an inherent ability to harness your innate momentum and thrive merely by changing your perception and stating your intent. You can take your hectic lifestyle and use the momentum that it produces to jump-start progress on your dreams. That is why we are here, to harness the elusive beast that is momentum. We all have it, it's here in our lives whether we see it or not. The big question is this:

Can you harness your momentum?
